CAT 2008 ANALYSIS

CAT 2008 contained an element of surprise, though it had all the elements to make it really tough ,it was peppered with some very easy questions. The 15 extra questions in verbal would have left many wondering whether to actually give more time to the section. The Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation Section contained questions of average to higher difficulty with some “sitters” in the former which had to be spotted to score well.

The Data Interpretation section contained a variety of sets which could be used intelligently depending upon one’s strengths – a mix of logic as well as calculations-based problems. The Logic based problems especially were comparatively easier and persons strong in LR would have taken advantage of these.

The Verbal Section contained an equal mix of English Usage and Reading Comprehension questions and were of the expected difficulty level. The questions on usage of words were dependent a lot on the vocabulary of the student and hence a lot of people might have found it to be difficult.

Overall Cut Off’s maybe :
Verbal:40-45
Quant:30-34
DI:34-36
